The Depot Café (formerly known as The Depot Deli) has been a mainstay of Sisters, Oregon since 1976. One would have to debate what we are best known for – our gourmet sandwiches, organic salads, sweet potato hash, or the train that rolls around the top of the dining room.
Under the guidance of Pam and Chris Wavrin, owners since 2007, The Depot has placed an emphasis on fresh food made from scratch using local products. (Check out our blog on the Great Grandmother Standard) Our burgers are made from fresh local grass fed beef, we roast our own turkey, smoke our trip-tip and cook our corned beef. We use only natural chicken. We make our own salad dressings, and soups just to name a few, and we are now partnering with Big Ed’s Breads in Bend for our sliced breads.
The back patio has been designed to be an oasis and a respite from the hustle and bustle of the busy town, and has been a popular venue for rehearsal dinners, wedding and baby showers and other private events.
The Depot Café serves breakfast on Saturday and Sunday 8 am to 12 pm offering traditional egg dishes and scrambles along with some more eclectic specials like our sweet potato hash. How about a fresh squeezed orange juice mimosa to start out the day? And we are proud to serve Strictly Organic Coffee from Bend. We are now also offering some breakfast items all day.
Pam and Chris are also heavily involved in the Sisters community, supporting many of the local events and schools. They have two daughters who can often be found helping their parents at The Depot Café. Together, the family brings their great relationships, cheer, and hard work to The Depot Café to share with locals who support the business year round as well as with the many tourists still discovering everything that Sisters and The Depot Café have to offer.
